1. Pick a chronicle
The chronicle defines which classes, zones and systems the game has.
- Interlude — the classic and the most popular chronicle: third classes, Olympiad, sieges. If in doubt, start here.
- High Five — more content and classes, attributes, Vesper. For a long game and PvP.
- Essence — fast levelling and auto-hunting if you have little time to play.
- C4 and Classic — slow, "old-school" L2 for connoisseurs.
- Interlude+ — familiar Interlude with items and zones from later chronicles.
2. Pick the rates
Rates show how many times faster than on official servers you get experience, adena and drops.
3. Decide when to join
- Announcement — the server has not opened yet. Gather a clan and come to the launch: online is highest in the first days. See the "Coming soon" block on the home page.
- OBT — an open beta test before the launch: you can look at the server, and progress is usually wiped.
- Bonus start — a fresh start of an already running server with gifts for newcomers: a chance to catch up with veterans.
- Already open — if the server started a week or two ago and online holds, that is a good sign.
4. Check the server before the launch
- Website and socials — they work and describe the rates, rules, donation shop and start date.
- Donation shop — no selling of top gear or enchanting for money, otherwise the game gets boring.
- Team history — their previous projects and how long they lasted.
- Limits — how many windows you can open, whether bots and auto-hunting are allowed.
- One-day servers — loud promises, "free donations", no OBT end date and no rules are reasons to be careful.
All servers in the L2Spawn catalog are moderated: the website works, and dates and rates match the announcement. The "Verified" mark is a blue shield next to the name.
